What is Conditional Formatting and how do I apply it in Excel 2007? Conditional Formatting feature in Excel allows you to apply formatting to cells when certain criteria you define is met. For example, say you're keeping track of sales of a product that exceeds a number like 1000. You can apply a conditional format to that cell so when it hits 1000 or more, then the format of say bold, the color red or any other format that you'd liked to be flagged with in that cell will appear. Conditional formats are based typically upon the equal to, greater than or less than expressions.
