How can I create shortcuts in Windows Vista on my Desktop for most commonly used applications or folders? One way is to find your folder, program or another shortcut and right click it and click on Create Shortcut. Once created you'll notice an icon that looks the same as your original with the exception that you'll see a little curved arrow. This little arrow means or indicates that this icon isn't an original and is "pointing" back to the original program, folder etc. Another way is to click on your Start button and right click on one of the programs listed and go to "Send To" and click on "Desktop." Once your Shortcuts are created you can place your shortcut wherever it works for you.
