What is the Instant Search feature new to Windows Vista, and how does it work? The instant search is a field located off of the Windows Vista Start button. Simply click in the the field and type in the keyword or keywords of your file's name. Then instantly you'll see the results appear in the Start menu above where you can click on the appropriate file to open. Now if there's more files than can fit in the Start menu's search results you can click on the Search Everywhere option and it will open up a window where you can view all of the search results. In addition, you can save your search results for later searches that can be pulled up again in any Explorer view or folder view.
