Clip art are cartoon images, and are free for anybody who owns Microsoft's Office including Word 2007. To insert clip art into Word click on the Insert Tab, go to the Illustrations group and click Clip Art button to bring up the Clip Art task pane. In this task pane found on the right side of your Word screen, you can type in keywords and click Go to search for available clip art. And not just clip art, but your default search results for clip art will also return photos, sounds and movies (if available). Your search results will appear in the task pane for you to click on, and it will insert itself into your document. Once in Word you're free to edit the picture with additional Tabs found on the Ribbon.
